Dona Filipa Hotel Refurbishment: Update March

Refurbishments at the Primavera Restaurant

We're pleased to announce that the renovations to Dona Filipa Hotel's Primavera Restaurant have been moving ahead according to plan and should be completed very shortly. The restaurant is now entering the final stages of upgrades to our extensive kitchen facilities and we're looking forward to re-opening with state-of-the-art equipment, appliances and modifications.

In order to provide a better service to our guests - and as weather conditions are now improving - we have decided to open the Pool Bar (located by the swimming pool). Opening hours will be from 11.30am until 5.00pm.

For now the Food & Beverage program will remain as follows:

Breakfast - Will take place at Dom Duarte Grill-Restaurant from 6.30am to 10.00am;
Lunch - Will take place at the Pool area and/or San Lorenzo Bar from 11.30am to 3.30pm;
Dinner - Will take place at Dom Duarte Grill-Restaurant from 7.30pm to 10.30pm.

We will keep you updated with new information very soon.

The Best Way to Welcome Spring... With a new Primavera (Spring) Restaurant

It is with great pride that we can now announce the re-opening of the newly refurbished Primavera Restaurant, on the 01 April 2013.

The kitchen has undergone a €200,000 face-lift to replace all equipment, fittings and fixtures... and has provided us with a state-of-the-art facility complete with all the latest amenities needed to deliver a five-star dining experience.

We have also spent €35,000 on new bathrooms and disabled facilities for the restaurant; as well as new showers and changing rooms for the nearby swimming pool. The public areas in the restaurant have also been redeveloped and a new roof has been fitted.

One area that we are most proud of, is our new wine cellar. Sponsored by Caves esporão, our new cellar will stock the finest in Portuguese wines, French Champagne's and Italian Prosecco. We have also added an expert sommelier to our ranks, who is ready to advise you as to our extensive selection.

Thanks to all these changes and the re-opening of the Primavera Restaurant, the Food & Beverage schedule will now be as follows:

Breakfast - Will take place at Primavera Restaurant, from 6.30am to 10.00am
Lunch - Will take place at Pool area and/or San Lorenzo Bar, from 11.30am to 3.30pm
Dinner - Will take place at Dom Duarte Grill-Restaurant, from 7.30pm to 10.30pm. Our theme evening buffets, on Wednesdays (Champagne buffet) and Sundays (Fisherman buffet), will served at Primavera Restaurant.

The Latest News on Dona Filipa Hotel's Refurbishment

Our brand new redevelopment plan is currently in full swing... here's a quick update on all the work that is being undertaken:

Completed Projects

Primavera Restaurant: The restaurant reopened at the start of April with a brand new kitchen, plus a variety of other upgrades and refurbishments.
Service Bathrooms - Primavera Restaurant: Bathrooms for the conference facilities, swimming pool and Primavera Restaurant have all been completely refurbished.
Air Conditioning and piping: All air-conditioning and piping (for the a/c) upgrades have been completed in the guest rooms.
Public Areas: The Bar, Nautical Lounge and lobby area have all been equipped with new furnishings and fittings.
Mock Up Room: We have created a brand new room design and layout that is currently in testing phase for future upgrade projects.

Ongoing Projects

Exterior Painting of the Hotel: Half of the building has been completed, the rest to follow shortly.
Insulation: New insulation is currently being fitted to all independent roof areas on the hotel's 3rd floor.
Air Conditioning and piping: In conjunction with the insulation, we are currently upgrading the air conditioning and piping on the 3rd floor's public areas.
