Excellent restaurant service and room service. Excellent golfing holiday with very friendly obliging staff. We have been coming here for seven years and the service is always very good.

a) Breakfast excellent
b) Seafood dinner good
c) Dining in the evening still poor2) Why is no food served at the club house until 18:00 or 18:30 hours?? The room is very cosy!! We and our friends would enjoy having very early dinner there.

Staff very good in almost all cases.
Hotel very comfortable and a good "feeling" about the place generally
One or two signs that the Hotel would benefit from some re-decoration (paint), but we would come back again.
The golf packages we have used have been good. However, "the Algarve" needs to be aware that there is plenty of competition to attract people throughout Europe.

We took our grandaughter aged 8 with us as her younger brother unfortunately was born with cerebral palsy.His handicap restricts what our grandaughter can do and we thought it would be nice to give her a holiday on her own with us.She absolutely loved it! The staff were so friendly to her and made her feel a little lady.She loved the pool and the golf clubhouse .The choice of food for her was excellent - she left a clean plate every time! Thank you all.
We should also have thanked you last year when we got caught by the volcanic ash.Your staff could not have been more helpful.Each time our flight was cancelled you provided rooms for us immediately and tried every possible way to get information from the airport.Thank you.

The plumbing needs attention shower/bath run at same time and very hot.

No notice to tell us breakfast moved from Primavera to Dom Duarte. Had to stay extra night because of flight cancellation - excellent and helpful response from Reception. Thank You!

Hotel should have a gym. Staff were all 5 star!

Nonetheless, to fulfill our guests’ needs and expectations, Dona Filipa Hotel has an exclusive agreement with the Vale do Lobo Royal Spa (500 m from the Hotel); enabling guests to use their gym facilities. I just wanted to write and say how much my sister and I enjoyed our recent stay in the Dona Filipa. I had read that the hotel staff had a reputation for excellent service but I was unprepared for how lovely everyone was. From the young man who greeted us on reception, to the maids, the restaurant staff, the bar staff and the concierges, nothing was too much trouble and everything was done with a genuine smile. We were fortunate to be upgraded to a deluxe suite which was the nicest hotel room I have ever seen.
Thank you all so much, I will never forget my 3 days in the Algarve.

Returning for our third year to Dona Filipa the experience of the past remains. Such a great location for both the golf and the beach is enhanced by the experience of staying at a hotel where you are instantly made to feel welcome. The service and food remain at the highest level and the support of the staff to run our charity golf event is second to none - genuinely nothing is too much trouble.
All our group wish to thank everyone associated with the hotel for ensuring that our event was once again a tremendous success.

I am writing to express my thanks for your support during our event 23rd - 26th May 2010, I had heard great feedback from Donna on how well the event had run in the past, and it was great that the hotel exceeded my expectations.
I would like to pass on Donna's thanks for all of your hard work prior to the event. The plans were put into place perfectly, which meant that when I arrived on site we were ready to go! Nothing was ever too much trouble, and you were there to support throughout.
I have never known a check-in process to run so smoothly, all of the reception staff were happy to help, and even though we had many early arrivals all bedrooms were ready in plenty of time. I would like to thank Amilcar in particular, he was there to see in every arrival, and so very professional at all times.
Both the dinners hosted at the hotel were excellent, the food and service could not be faulted. Please pass our thanks to Joao and his team in the restaurant.
Please also thanks Jose and his team on the bar, especially Joel, they looked after us well with their very friendly and professional service.
Our Castrol hosts and the guests all commented on how lovely it was to see familiar faces at the hotel, for myself who hadn't stayed at the hotel before it was clear how much experience the hotel staff have and how much they all enjoy their jobs.
And finally to all of the staff who work behind the scenes to keep the hotel looking as wonderful as it does. It is a team effort.
We hope to run this event again next year, and would have no hesitation in returning to the Dona Filipa.

Now we are back in cold old Germany, i just wanted to write and thank you for two fantastic Golf Weeks. All 17 of my Clients were so pleased with the Organisation from the Hotel, that they have already confirmed for the next trip in November 2011.
Please extend my thanks to all the Staff whether it be in the restaurants or at the Golf Course, as usual the clients were very impressed with the catering and the excellent room service.
Please do not forget also to thank the Back Office Staff and the Reception for their commitment in making the stay so enjoyable for myself and the two Golf Groups, with this kind of support is my job very easy,

Just to make you aware that the Urban Golf trip returned an overwhelmingly satisfied response from ALL who attended - universal satisfaction is a tricky thing to attain these days! - but -what with the weather being incredible, the golf sublime, and the organization seamless, I'd like to say thank you on behalf of Urban Golf and our guests for a wonderful long-weekend in the Algarve.

Can I thank you and all of your staff for the first rate service provided to the 12 ladies from Harrogate who stayed with you between 11th to 14th of October.
We all thoroughly enjoyed the golfing break at San Lorenzo and the Dona Filipa.
You will probably be unaware that I was not well on the first night, but, the care and attention of your staff (notably Amilcar and the Restaurant Manager) ensured a speedy recovery and no loss of golf!!!!
The reaction to the "tour" was extremely favourable... So I hope to bring back the same group of 12 early next October

Our wedding held at the Dona Filipa Hotel was truly wonderful. Everthing from the early planning stages to popping the champagne was organised so well and nothing was too much trouble for ANY of the staff.
The pool side setting for the ceremony was beautiful and romantic and will be in our memories forever!
Our wedding meal was so very nice and all the decoration of tables with flowers and candles were fantastic. Though only small in numbers, we were made to feel so important that we have a very special place in our hearts for the Dona Filipa Hotel.

Air conditioning unit - problem was taken care of in excellent time. All staff very friendly and helpful, equally. Guest services are very good.
We appreciated the upgrade on our arrival. It was an added bonus. We will come again, Dona Filipa has good deals and is well situated

Golf was excellent.
Another excellent stay. The staff in the Hotel are what make the stay even beter, they are a credit to the Hotel. Daniel and Jose in the bar are both exceptional and the rest of the team are also very attentive. We love this area and will definitely come back to stay at the Hotel again.
The golf luggage facility is excellent.
My only negative is that the bedrooms could do with some updating.
We were very pleased with our stay, we loved eating outside at Primavera restaurant and the food is really good. The hotel outdoor apperance need a refurbishment, specially if you look at it from the golf course
I really enjoyed my stay. from the bell boy through an exceptionally friendly check in. Your staff are your biggest asset. The kangaroo club was excellent. Pool restaurant and service very good. The fact that you gave me a garden room which I had requested also made my day. I will definately return. Check in gifts and turn down service for my children greatly appreciated. See you next year.
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PLACE TO STAY I REALLY ENJOYED MY WEEK WITH YOU AND LOOK FORWARD TO DOING IT AGAIN SOON
Charming hotel in a great location.
Having known the area for so many years, this was actually my first stay at the hotel. It was everything I expected it to be and more!
We had a wonderful time we stayed for 3 nights 15th till the 18th June and I was totally impressed everything about it was great.
The accommodation and especially the staff and service and location it was outstanding I am glad I had this opportunity and will not hesitate to recommend to my clients.
We played San Lorenzo on the Friday it is a lovely course I will also recommend it.
And I will definitely be back.
Once again we return home from Dona Filipa Hotel and feel absolutely relaxed after a fantastic / happy break.
As always ALL the Staff in every area of the Hotel are so very helpful / polite and friendly. Nothing is ever too much to ask of anyone

My wife suffered a very painful insect bite on the course and Paula in the clubhouse helped us to get to an open pharmacy (late on Sunday afternoon), where we got excellent treatment. Without it we could not have played the following day.
As always, staff were outstanding, helpful, friendly etc. Brilliant and a credit to the Hotel.
We have been coming here for many years now. As usual, we have had an excellent holiday and we have noticed a few important improvements such as the air conditioning in the room (much, much better) and the new sunbeds.
The restaurants are great, as always - but the biggest asset to the Hotel is the staff. They are so obliging, courteous and friendly, it makes staying here a real pleasure.

On arriving back at the suite on the Saturday, after our round of golf, my partner was absolutely overwhelmed to find a birthday cake waiting for her.

We have just returned from a stay at your hotel on the 12th, 13th and 14th March 2011, we had 4 rooms and golf booked through Golfbreaks.
The email firstly was to thank you greatly for a wonderful weekend, all of us unanimously agreed that your hotel is one of the best we have had the pleasure of staying at including and far exceeding La Manga where we stayed at in September last year. The attention to detail and manners of all your staff should not go unrecognised and I would be most grateful if you would pass on our thanks and appreciation to all, including the bar staff who stayed up late on all nights putting up with our raised voices. I must also thank you for the cake which was placed in one of our parties room to celebrate his birthday, this was a very nice touch.
We were so impressed with our stay that we want to come back with our wives and girlfriends.
Once again thank you for your kind hospitality shown to us during our stay.
Just a belated note to thank you and all the staff for your kindness, and for making our stay with you last month so enjoyable. As usual, everything was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed returning to the Dona Filipa again. The standard of housekeeping in the bedrooms was, as usual, very high. As soon as we walk through the door we feel as if we have come home - there can be no better recommendation of a hotel and you all deserve congratulations for running everything so well.

It would be nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the bedroom. A wide choice of English speaking TV channels.
As many times before we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay made all the better by the wonderful staff. It is nice to see the new (to us) young waiters working in the Dona Filipa always ready - polite, helpful but still having a sense of fun. Well done to all, keep it up. Excellent golf hotel catering for golfers!
Poor buffet on Wednesday night. Sunday excellent! Bar service excellent. Bar staff are warm and welcoming.
Bed pillows were too hard.
Christina was excellent in helping with room reservation at short notice. Unfortunately we didn't use all the Hotel services. Just wish the heating had been in in the swimming pool. Would have liked tea making facility for morning tea. Staff were all very helpful. Overall: Thank you!
